Velocity-X is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed professional to fill the role of Software Test Engineer to support our team in Northern Virginia. The candidate will be a member of a software development team supporting cloud-based application development.

Required Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
• Experienced in the Agile development methodologies
• Experience with testing software to verify and validate requirements
• Experience with manually testing desktop applications, web-based applications, and APIs
• Experience with detecting, reporting, and communicating any code defects and their impacts effectively
• Good communication skills, both written and oral, to convey technical and procedural concepts with experience writing, updating, and editing user facing and test documentation
• Automation and manual testing of the ecosystem, to include UI functionality in addition to quality control and verification of data accuracy
• Individual will set up and configure the test suite in Selenium

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with and troubleshooting Internet and Web related protocols and technologies and testing their applications
• Experience with setting up and configuring the test suite in Selenium
• Experience with data models or querying data
• Experience testing cloud-based infrastructure components
• Experience working with Version Control or DevOps tools, such as Git, Jenkins or similar
